This Cookie Policy explains how Metal Memories (run by David Cernat, sole trader, Essex, United Kingdom) uses cookies and similar technologies on metalmemories.uk. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include pixels, tags and local storage. They help the site work, remember your choices, measure how the site is used and show relevant ads.
Your choice
When you first visit our site from the UK or Europe, a cookie banner asks for your consent. Only strictly necessary cookies are used before you choose. Analytics, preference and marketing cookies are only set if you click Accept or turn them on in Manage preferences. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site (such as the cart and checkout) may then not work.
Types of cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary
Needed for the store to work: keeping items in your cart, secure checkout, fraud prevention, load balancing and remembering your cookie choice. These are provided by Shopify, our e-commerce platform, and do not need consent.
2. Preferences
Remember settings such as language, currency and the product personalisation tool (Teeinblue) so you do not lose your design while browsing.
3. Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on site, device type) so we can improve it. Provided by Shopify Analytics and Judge.me (product reviews).
4. Marketing
Used to measure our advertising and show you relevant ads on other websites and apps. Provided by:
- Google (Google Ads, via the Google & YouTube app) – e.g. _gcl_au, _gcl_aw. We use Google Consent Mode v2: if you do not accept marketing cookies, Google tags do not store advertising cookies. See how Google uses data from partner sites.
- Meta (Facebook & Instagram pixel) – e.g. _fbp, _fbc. See Meta Privacy Policy.
- Shopify – marketing and attribution cookies used for Shopify's advertising features.
How long cookies last
Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (session cookies). Others stay for a set period, usually from a few minutes up to 2 years, unless you delete them earlier. Your cookie consent choice is remembered for up to 12 months.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the tools we use. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
